National Perspective: A president’s appeal to the Congress to heal the nation

In President Biden’s inaugural address, he emphasized the need for unity to overcome the challenges faced by America. He called on every American to unite and fight against anger, resentment, hatred, extremism, lawlessness, violence, disease, joblessness, and hopelessness. However, many believe that Biden has eroded the principles and values of America, including morality, character, and faith - through his past and ongoing actions. Further, his policies and solutions have proven to be impractical, lacking efficacy, while further diminishing National Security. I’d argue that he has also contributed to the breakdown of the family structure, the loss of meritocracy, and the lax focus on education.

Along with strong representation and reasonable taxes and services, I believe that individual decision-making and Constitutional rights must be preserved. Let’s remember that our Nation was built on legal immigration and border security. Let’s put a stop to further indebting our children and grandchildren and beyond! Let’s agree that Joe Biden's values and cognitive abilities are compromised and that he is unable to provide leadership going forward. These are circumstances that would have derailed Lyndon Johnson’s “New Deal” and “Great Society” initiatives. Much respect for David Shribman and his column and views. However, I place the past Jan 6th capital demonstration right alongside the 2020 multi-city election demonstrations (which were indeed violent). Let’s move beyond that acknowledging today’s issues and common ground for moving ahead.
