BERLIN — As the city moves closer to likely participating in the community electricity aggregation where residential consumers can choose what electric supplier they want to buy their power from, the city council on April 15 decided its next step.

The city planning board will create a subcommittee to serve as an energy committee and the names of the subcommittee members will be submitted to the city council. The council will appoint the energy committee, which will be a subset of the planning board.
