To the editor:

Northern New England’s railroad scene has been dramatically shifting in the last few years. CSX has taken over Pan Am Railways, the Conway Scenic Railroad will begin bussing cruise passengers to the White Mountains and the St. Lawrence and Atlantic is wrapping up an infrastructure upgrade.

The Conway Branch is a state branch, not a town owned branch. Sadly hb1468 is a bill put forth with little forethought. In fact the author Jonathan Smith admits it was put together in just hours before the deadline.

We do hope the NH DOT sees fit to consider the entire use case for New Hampshire, not just a rogue 1 use platform.

A Rail with a Trail alongside supports the maximum use cases for the corridor, both today and tomorrow.
