BERLIN — The end of the winter sports season brings a wave of recognition for the Berlin-Gorham athletic community. Standout athletes from the boys and girls hockey, and basketball teams, have earned prestigious honors in the recent All-State teams selected by the N.H. High School Coaches Association. Among the notable recipients are Kolin Melanson and Ava Bartoli, who are shining stars on the ice.Â
Kolin Melanson has left an indelible mark on the ice this season, leading his team to a state championship victory and earning the prestigious title of Division III Boys Ice Hockey Player of the Year. Throughout the season, Melanson showcased his extraordinary talent tallying an impressive record of eight shutouts while facing a staggering 408 shots and saving an astounding 391, allowing only 17 goals all season. He boasts an impeccable 19-0 record for the 2023-24 season and a stellar overall high school career record of 63-6-1. With Melanson in net, his team has reached the finals in all four years of his high school career and clinched three state championships.
