CONWAY — Selectmen learned Tuesday that a major tree-cutting operation is recommended to take place this spring to clear out hazardous tree limbs and dying red oaks in town-owned Whitaker Woods.

According to former selectman David Weathers, the board’s representative to the Conway Conservation Commission, “It’s not going to be aesthetically pretty, but it has to be done for safety.”
