Fire destroyed Pleasant Street building
BERLIN – Fire early Sunday morning destroyed a vacant three-story building at 148 Pleasant Street. The call came in at 4:15 a.m. and there was heavy fire and smoke when firefighters arrived at the scene.Firefighting efforts were over by 8 a.m. but a crew remained at the scene and that section of Pleasant Street was closed to traffic Sunday morning. The building was still standing but the interior had been extensively gutted by the fire.... Read more
